    Expert Ladies ?

    So..who have we got ?
    Our Orla of course but will we see an upsurge in Womens racing or will we have a feeble Sports ladies cat made up of 3 0r 4, Mel and Cait in the Elites and Orla, Agata and Rose in Experts.
    Thats woeful over all..
    Caroline and Carol will be racing sports , Carol has no choice , unless a load of Vet women decide they want to race.
    Caroline has never raced !!
    Silvia has left us !
    Shona has been domesticated !

    Morgan, what are you and the MAD Commission doing about this..

    That's an interesting article. I don't see us receiving €1000000 in Lotto funding any time soon so don't expect any grand schemes. We do however have many active moutainbiking clubs and I believe these are key to bringing new riders (women in this case) to the sport. What plans do Epic have for increasing women's participation?

        Our womens participation is always ongoing. At the moment I run Road spins on Thursdays for ladies and Carol and Jack are running spins for experienced ladies on Saturdays.
        Jack is coaching the girls up to a sufficient standard to start running spins on their own.
        Alfie will also be running ladies only spins and training sessions. We already have several ladies members and have broad plans to get more to join EPIC.
        personally i'm bringing in a range of womens Cycling clothing in to Eurocycles and womens specific bikes are available from Focus,Felt and Corratec, so we're doing a lot.

            Great stuff Richie - all sounds very positive. The 2011 Women's race-field is looking healthier already. Hope to see other clubs following your lead.
