The best of luck to everybody racing this weekend, regardless of Club and regardless of Discipline. Its the first XC NPS of the season in Bellurgan and its the first time Mount Leinster is being used as a DH venue.
Richie
Well done to everyone from EPIC who went to the race today and those who were in the prizes...! :) And of course M.C Richie for his "encouragement", yes I know i was going backwards in the race but I have amazing wheels! :)
Another win for Jack in the S3 race! Andy Fitz in his best race ever! :)
The course was fantastic today, perfectly dry, reminded me of summer! The bike is not even one bit muddy! :)
The cold blustery wind wasn't enough to put anyone off....though spectators weren't hanging around much!
The guys in Cuchulainn have set the Standard for NPS, though was not mad about the 2pm start...
Great day out well organised the curry after was the business .... Done well the whether it's lashing now !!! Yea caroline got second and Orla came second in her race to I think I came 7 in s3 will look forward to seeing the results bring on cork now only two weeks to go :)
Anyway, great race , great course, froze to death myself, well done to everybody who raced and/or particpated, my voice is gone because the PA packed in.
The 2.00 start is the stupidest, most moronic change to a race program ever, whoever allowed that should be shot. Apparently its to allow people to travel from far away to get there. So they can then travel all the way back even later.
In fairness to Cuchulainn and Gary, they queried it and were told that was the rules.
Except there was nobody at the race who makes these rules but lets not take away from the event, lets celebrate the winners, the great course and applaud everybody who took part.
Well done to everybody and to Cuchulainn and Gary for running a great event..Chicken Curry bleurgh..nasty stuff, am I wearing a frickin turban these days then ?
Great to see so many kids racing too..
So lucky with the weather! Sitting here in the warmth now with the rain lashing and wind howling outside. Great course and great race though i didn't really get going till the last lap! Should have taken the gel at the start! Can't wait for Thursday night now.
Well done Jack , Orla and Caroline.I think myself and Alfie finished similar to last year except this year Alfie is doing less training and I am doing more!
Great course (even did a warm down lap just to enjoy the course). Fair play Richie (the Voice of MTB).
Poxed with the weather.
John.

Thats not correct Richie. The reasons for moving the race start times to 2pm this year is for the S4 and junior cat podium presantations. In the past, the podiums were at 1-50 ish when the senior races were in full swing, and nobody was there to see it. Or they were done at the end of all the races (say 4pm), when a lot of parents had gone home with the children who podiumed.
Moving the race start time to 2pm allows the time for the podiums to be done with everyone still there, and then the races can start afterwards. Also parents of children racing dont have to wait hours for the presentation.
Great course and event.I agree with 2 pm start being silly and doesn't help if u have kids or s4 riders racing earlier.
I think the 2pm start suits better for us that are travelling longer distances to the race, it gives me more time to get to the race venue and as I have an U14 rider with me who starts her race at 12 then I have time to prepare her for her race and then I can have time to get myself ready for the 2pm start. It does mean that we get home an hour later but overall makes for a more relaxing less stressful day. It's like most things I guess will suit some peoople more than others.
