Sorry Donough, not travelling for this... I think most are converting there CX bikes to commuter/training bikes now at this stage...

Thanks Graham, looks like I'm not heading either. Puchestown the following week though and then start thinking about trying to mountainbike again, went out there 2 weeks back but thumb was too weak to hold the handlebars strongly, its OK on road hoods, but the angle is different on an MTB, message to thumb is TTFU!

Cashel is too far for me , but I might give punchestown a lash again.

How did the race go Colm? Saw you in the photos, looked like the conditions were muddy (as the name suggested) but OK.

Course was good, not that technical, had a nice circular feature, a few jumps and went out on the road for about 200m before going back into the field.
I arrived early before 11 to get well organised and signed on.
After sign on, word went around that they would amalgamate all races together, so abandoning the B race start of 12pm and putting all off together at 1.30.
I went for a warm up about 12.45 up the road and arrived back at the start area about 1.05 only to discover that they had changed the start time again and set everyone off at 1pm.
I was well pissed off, threw off the jacket and tore off up the course after them all.
Ended up being a good work out as I chased down the entire field with plenty of overtaking practice!
I finished 4th in the A race and rather annoyed at a potentially good day ruined.
Apart from the start time fiasco it was a well organised event with lots of tea & grub afterwards.
Think thats the end of cx for me this year, back to mtb now!

Jesus fair play. Very annoying and amateurish.

That was a shame Colm, you must have been furious. But great effort to get back to 4th after all that. Site go on and come along to Punchestown. One more go for the year.

That's a real shame Colm - CX race management has not been kind to you recently, you deserve better!
