  • Men's Elite Road Race Champs Sunday 24th

The nationals is for A2 riders upwards, so i guess I'll be the sole EPIC representation this year, but hopefully next year we'll have a few more riding in the A1/A2 ranks, and judging by the results this year that will be no problem. All the top pro come home for this one so Nicolas Roche, Matt Brammeier will be there with Dan Martin and Philip Deegan missing due to injury, should be a good experience to race with them, sorry to try and hang on as long as I can.

    Route Description

The route for the Elite and Under 23 Road Race National Championships for 2012 is a variation of the course that was used for the 2009 World Military Cycling Championships plus an extra 2.5 kilometers which includes the extra climb of Colonel’s Hill. The total distance of one complete lap is 18.6KM with an elevation gain of 212m. The race will be 9 laps which will be a total distance of 167.4KM and total elevation gain of 1908m.We believe the circuit to be of a very sporting nature and meets the requirements of Cycling Ireland Technical Regulations Chapter T10 – Article 1.1 . The Elite & U23Road Race will be the only event to be on the road race circuit with a start time of 12:00pm

The vet nationals is on Saturday, John Dorris??? calling John Dorris
