Apollo Cycling Club of Lurgan will be hosting this year’s National Cyclocross Championship Race at Lurgan Park on Sunday January 4th. Lurgan Park offers cyclocross riders an excellent venue for fast racing in pleasant surroundings. Those of you who enjoyed the October race at this venue will be pleased to know we have added the following improvements to what is already one of the finest cyclocross venues in Ireland.
• A new loop involving a climb and light forest section
• A new pit lane with on site water bowser for bike wash (mechanics please bring your own bucket and brush) and lane layout for rapid bike change during racing.
• The use of an excellent pavilion for post race food and the presentation of prizes.
Directions to venue
The course is situated next to Waves Leisure Complex in Queen St, (just off the main street) Lurgan. The approach roads will be signed on the morning of the event.
Parking provided in the grounds of Waves Leisure Complex. Use the car park to your right when entering the main gates.
Race Sign on will open at 10am in the Cush pavillion (will be sign posted and only a few yards from the car park). Full changing facilities inc hot showers available in Cush pavilion for all competitors.

Kids mtb race . Entry fee 4 (5 euros)

There will be a mountain bike SUPPORT RACE for all remaining mtb riders (men, women and juniors) starting at 12.15pm. Fee 10 (12 euros).

The main race of the day will be a mass start cyclocross race for all cyclocross competitors (no mtb’s) starting at 1.30pm. Cyclocross bikes only and no disc braked machines allowed.

Lurgan Park cyclocross course is classified as a fast, flowing and challenging track and yet suitable for even novice riders. Cycling Ireland medal awards for senior men, women, juniors, vets and the winning team.
